  • Application and machine type
  • Required line pull or output torque
  • Bare drum diameter and maximum winding diameter
  • Rope diameter, layers and target rope speed
  • Motor type, speed/power or hydraulic pressure/flow
  • Brake duty and safety requirements
  • Mounting drawing or current gearbox nameplate
  • Ambient conditions and certification needs

Why we ask for this data

Winch drive selection is a system problem. Drum radius changes the torque required for a given line pull; ratio changes motor operating speed; duty affects thermal performance; mounting stiffness and support arrangement influence bearing and alignment conditions.

Providing these inputs at the start reduces back-and-forth and lets engineering identify missing assumptions before an approval drawing is issued.
